Joke
Du Jour
Late one night a man walked into a dentist's surgery and announced, "I think I'm a moth. Can you you please help me?" The flabbergasted dentist replied, "A moth? Like a butterfly?" "Yes" the sick man replied, "I am pretty sure I am a moth." The dentist answered, "You don't need a dentist. You need a psychiatrist." "Yes, I know," admitted the moth man. "So why did you come in here?" asked the dentist. The man replied, "Well, the light was on."
What in 'Tarnation is E85 Anyway?
E85 is one more reason why some savvy investors are now looking at corn farm land. E85 alcohol is an alcohol fuel that is a blend of up to 85% ethanol and as little as 15% gasoline. (Note: Before I researched this article I thought E85 was 85% gasoline rather than 85% ethanol. I hope you drown in your oil, Osama!)
E85 is a mostly renewable fuel that can be manufactured from U.S. grown corn. In the future, it may be economically produced from other biomass resources such as agricultural and forestry wastes or specially grown energy crops.
E85 reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and using E85 ethanol can help to reduce smog-forming emissions. E85 ethanol also has a higher octane rating than gasoline. This allows for more horsepower and torque.
E85 as a fuel is widely used in Sweden and is becoming increasingly common in the United States, mainly in the Midwest where corn is a major crop and is the primary source material for ethanol fuel production.

Dust Joke
A visiting minister waxed eloquent during the offertory prayer. "Dear Lord," he began with arms extended and a rapturous look on his upturned face, "without you we are but dust..." He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter (who was listening carefully for a change!) leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little girl voice, "Dad, what is butt dust?"
Engineering Issues
Cars and trucks have to be specially engineered to use E85 because it corrodes certain parts. Vehicles engineered to use E85 are designed to allow the driver to fill his tank with either gasoline, normal ethanol or E85, whichever is cheaper. (During the spike in gasoline prices in September 2005, a gallon of E85 ethanol was as much as 60 cents cheaper than gasoline in some places.) The driver doesn't have to do a thing. The engine automatically determines the mixture and adjusts accordingly. These SUV's and trucks are known as flex-fuel vehicles.
But this isn't science fiction, folks. General Motors already has over 2 million flex-fuel vehicles on the road, and by 2012, GM in partnership with Daimler-Chrysler and Ford, aims to have half of annual vehicle production be E85 flexible fuel or bio-diesel capable.

Lincoln's Birth Joke
Q: In what state was Abraham Lincoln born? A: Naked and screaming like the rest of us.
Farm Land Versus Stocks
Which will double first? Will the Dow Jones Industrial Average soar to 26,000 before corn farm land (we're currently paying around $3,500 per acre) reaches $7,000 per acre?
Marriage Joke
My father was a dentist and my mother was a manicurist... for most of their married life they fought tooth and nail.
Fun Stuff
I used to get mad at the punks who wore baggy clothes and drove around the neighborhood with their stereos booming. Then it hit me. Hey, they're just trying to find a pretty girl to kiss them. You should see the production a bird of paradise puts on to find a mate. Please click here. Folks, this dance will crack you up!
Final Word on E85
E85 produces less energy per gallon than gasoline, which means fewer miles per gallon. Until the price of E85 drops to 72% the price of gasoline, consumers may not see any savings in fuel costs per mile. But we certainly are not as dependent on foreign oil as war supporters would like us to believe. If the nation had to convert to 40% E85-usage, there would certainly be some pain - but food and supplies would not disappear from our supermarket shelves. America has corn farm land, so we are certainly not without remedies.
