A lady tells the story: Shortly before our 25th wedding anniversary, my husband sent 25 long-stemmed yellow roses to me at my office. A few days later, I plucked all the petals and dried them. On the night of our anniversary, I spread the petals over the bed and lay on top of them, wearing only a negligee. As I hoped, I got a reaction from my husband. When he saw me he shouted, "What are potato chips doing all over the bed!?"

Banks Are Hungry to Make Commercial Construction Loans

There has been almost zero new commercial construction for nine years. The world needs new commercial buildings.

Assuming the world isn't melting down, banks love to make commercial construction loans. They are short term loans, the bank takes its loan fee in the very first draw, and yet the bank doesn't have to advance most of the loan proceeds until months down the road. As a result, the bank's yield is supercharged.

Banks are so hot and sweaty to make commercial construction loans that I hired a new loan officer recently, just to broker out commercial construction loan applications. (Blackburne & Sons does NOT make commercial construction loans.)

We are working on a residential subdivision construction loan right now, and the interesting thing is that just about every bank with whom we have spoken wants to see the package. Banks are in the mood to make commercial construction loans!

Tiny Man Joke

Lawn Mower Joke

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed; but somehow I always had something else to take care of first - the truck, the car, fishing. There was always something more important to me

Final Funny (PG-13)

An old man, a boy, and a donkey were on their way to town. The boy was riding the donkey. As they went along, they passed a group of people who remarked it was a shame the old man had to walk while the young boy was riding. The man and boy thought about the criticism and decided maybe the people were right, so they switched places.

Later they passed another group of people who remarked that it was a shame that the old man made the little boy walk. The two travelers decided that they would BOTH walk. Soon they passed a third group of people who said they were stupid to walk, when they had such a fine donkey to ride. Therefore the two decided they would both ride the donkey.

The next group of people they passed said that it was AWFUL that the two put such a heavy load on the poor donkey. The old man and boy thought that maybe the people were right, so they decided to carry the donkey. Soon they came to a river, with a narrow bridge spanning it. As they attempted to cross the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal, and it fell into the river and drowned.

The moral of the story? If you try to please everyone, you may as well kiss your ass goodbye.
